Community Outreach: We will be collecting non perishable food items and cash for the local food banks

~Maple In The County~

Our favourite festival of the year is quickly approaching! Mark your calenders for March 28th and 29th. Visit our farmyard sugar shack from 9am-5pm and watch us turn sap into syrup on our high-efficiency wood-fired evaporator. Bring the kids for an afternoon in the sandbox in the yard, hang out by the campfire or a play date in the barn with the new lambs, chickens, pigs, goats and the baby jersey calves; while mom and dad enjoy a delicious maple pork or chicken sausage on a bun or a hearty bowl of homemade chicken noodle soup. As a community outreach we will be a drop-off location for contributions to the Prince Edward County food banks. We are excited to welcome a few vendors with local wares to join us for the weekend.

Calling all you maple syrup lovers!

We have stocked our self serve syrup stand at the front of the house! We have a variety of grades and sizes available for purchase. There is a price list and a jar where you put your money and can make yourself change. On the very top shelf of the stand is also a variety of sizes of maple butter. Come on out and fill your maple syrup needs!

    Just wondering who does your meat processing/butchering ?

    • Hi Gail!
      The chickens are now getting processed at Hilts in Norwood.
      Sausages, and larger animals get processed at Aman’s Abattoir in Wellington.
      They are both fantastic places, and both have amazing staff. Highly recommend both.

  2. Hello John and Michelle,

    Our family will be vacationing in the County next week. Will we be able to drop in on Sunday, March 9 to buy eggs, bacon, sausage, maple syrup, lamb shanks (hope you have these) and chicken? We need to stock up on provisions! Also, we would like our son to see how maple syrup is produced (if possible). Would that be ok?

  3. Glad to hear you will be at the Brickworks farmers markets (Sundays)! We just finished a bottle of maple syrup we got in PEC market this spring, Love the dark over-proof syrup!!!! Looking for a re-up on the syrup from the Brickworks 🙂

      I am sorry that I missed your message!! I will need to go on and adjust my settings I think! We are so happy you have enjoyed the syrup. We are now at the Brickworks on Saturdays (every other weekend). We are loving it 🙂
